Mr. Bond conducts commodities and securities admisitrative defense (i.e., defending
brokers in administrative proceedings), white collar criminal defense, and arbitrations before the NASD, NYSE, and NFA.
He has managed cases involving front running, wash trading, allocation issues with block trades, and manipulation of
futures on securities indexes (e.g., PTECH as previously traded on NYFE). He has negotiated and litigated customer
claims relating to suitability issues, fraud, and failure to supervise. He has extensive experience
in federal and state motion practice, depositions, arbitrations, jury trials, administrative hearings, and appeals.
Appearances before Second Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.
Accomplishments:
v Appearance before United States Supreme Court in case against CFTC to contest its
jurisdiction over off-exchange foreign currency trading. Won unanimous decision.
v Obtained $1.8-million award against large brokerage for stealing an idea for a financial
product from a broker.
v Obtained
$1.2-million award against large brokerage for wrongfully taking a broker’s insider stock.
v Obtained $170,000 sanction against opposing counsel from the NYSE for discovery abuses.
v Dealt with IMRO in the commodities context and represented individuals involved in the
Sumitomo market manipulation litigation. Ultimately the client reached settlement and avoided criminal charges.
v Represented principal of Quantum Fund in litigation against major brokerages.
Obtained a favorable negotiated result, subject to a confidentiality provision.
v Successfully represented German nationals in commodities claims against Hornblower.
v Represented Lehman Brothers in small securities and commodities related matters, including
free riding issues, broker loans, and collection with respect to variable margin and liquidation issues. Obtained
various forms of relief, including default judgments.
